Lebenslauf Vorlage Praktikum — English CV & Cover Letter Pack for an Internship in Germany (6 documents, already filled in)

6 documents for a Praktikum application in Germany, written in English and already filled in: 3 CVs, 2 cover letters, 1 speculative e-mail — 105 lines you edit instead of write. Your letter should say which placement type yours is: a voluntary internship longer than three months is covered by the statutory minimum wage of €13.90 per hour (2026), a compulsory placement under study regulations is not (§ 22 (1) MiLoG).

Header — who you are and which internship you want

Your name as it stands on your enrolment certificate. Add no photo, no date of birth, no marital status — in an English CV all three are a defect.

Use your university e-mail and the international phone format. A private address like sunnygirl98@ is the fastest way to look unserious.

Copy the job title and the reference number from the ad word for word — HR filters by both.

Only a profile you have actually filled in. An empty profile is worse than no link at all.

Profile — the four lines a recruiter reads in full

Keep the German grade scale with a comma: a German reader understands 1,7 instantly and 'GPA 3.4' not at all.

One concrete result with a number you measured yourself. Never round up a figure you cannot open in an interview.

Exact start date and exact length. 'Flexible' reads as 'not decided yet' and costs you the planning slot.

Delete any sentence that would fit a different employer just as well.

Education and practical experience — newest entry first, dates as MM/YYYY

Keep the official German name of the university; do not translate it into 'Munich University'.

Only modules that touch this internship. Three with grades beat ten without.

Keep the word Abitur and add the final grade; 'High School Diploma' tells a German reader nothing.

A café job counts — describe what you were responsible for, not the job title. Never invent an employer; references get called.

This is where a first-internship CV is won: a real project with a real client beats an empty experience block.

Skills, languages and the closing block

Name the functions you actually use. 'Good MS Office skills' tells a controlling team nothing.

Use CEFR levels A1–C2 plus the certificate and its date. German employers read CEFR, not 'fluent'.

Keep entries that show responsibility; drop hobbies that say nothing about how you work.

A German employer expects a Lebenslauf to end with place, date and signature. Leave three empty lines under this date, print, sign and scan.

How to open, fill and send this file

Menu names differ between Word versions and interface languages — look for the equivalent entry if yours is set to German.

Fonts and margins can shift slightly in Google Docs — check that the CV still ends on one page before you export.

Keep one untouched master file and edit copies, so you never lose the original layout.

Surname first in the file name — that is how a recruiter finds it again in a folder of 200 files.

Position you are applying for: Application for the Internship in Controlling, reference 2026-4711, six months from 1 March 2027

Professional link: LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/lena-hoffmann-controlling

Four lines, no more. This block replaces the German Lebenslauf head: no photo, no date of birth, no marital status, no nationality. If an employer explicitly asks for a photo, insert it yourself in Word.

Profile — the four lines a recruiter reads in full

Who you are in one sentence: Third-year Business Administration student at LMU Munich, major Controlling & Finance, current average 1,7 (German scale, 1,0 = best), looking for a six-month internship in financial controlling.

One result you produced: In a student consulting project I rebuilt a 14-sheet cost model for a Munich retailer and cut the monthly reporting run from two days to four hours.

Availability: Available from 1 March 2027 for six months, full time, 40 hours per week.

Why this company: I want to learn controlling inside a manufacturing company, because the cost structures I have only modelled at university are decided there.

If a recruiter reads only this block, they must already know your subject, your target role and your start date.

Education and practical experience — newest entry first, dates as MM/YYYY

Current degree: 10/2024 – 09/2027 · B.Sc. Business Administration, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München · major Controlling & Finance · current average 1,7 (German scale, 1,0 = best)

Relevant coursework: Relevant coursework: Cost Accounting (1,3), Corporate Finance (1,7), Statistics with R (2,0)

School-leaving qualification: 09/2016 – 06/2024 · Abitur, Gymnasium Fürstenried München · final grade 1,9 · advanced courses in Mathematics and Economics

Job or working-student role: 07/2025 – 09/2025 · Working student, Café Nord, Munich · ran the daily cash reconciliation for a team of nine and trained two new staff on the till system

Every block runs newest to oldest, and every entry starts with its date range in MM/YYYY. Never write 03/01/2027 — a German and an American reader will read it as two different days.

Nothing here is locked or watermarked. A free blank template hands you an empty page; here every line is a finished sentence in the order a German reader goes through it — MM/YYYY dates, the German grade scale, the place-and-date signature line. You are swapping facts, not writing from nothing.
