Questions
Is the free checker really free?
Yes. Spelling, grammar and punctuation in all five languages need no account and no payment. Premium only adds AI rewrites, picky style checks and very long texts.
What happens to my text?
The lines you change are sent to our own checking server (LanguageTool open-source engine) and forgotten after the answer; we keep only character counts for the daily limit. Password, card and one-time-code fields are never read. Your personal dictionary stays in your browser.
Does it work in Google Docs?
Google Docs draws text on a canvas that only allow-listed extensions can read, so copy the text into the checker above, fix it and paste it back. Gmail, Outlook on the web, forms, forums and most editors work directly.
Which AI writes the rewrites?
Claude Haiku 5.5 by Anthropic; if it is busy, Google Gemma 4. A rewrite only happens when you press the button, and you see every changed word before you replace anything.
British English, Swiss German, European Portuguese?
