$60 once · one licence key per person or team seat · 7-day full refund. Immigration advisers quote £2,000–£5,000 in legal fees for a sponsor licence application.

The salary floor for these exact hours
Takes the higher of the general threshold (£41,700 a year since 22 July 2025, or £33,400 on the reduced route) and the occupation going rate pro-rated to the hours worked, counting a maximum of 48 hours a week. A £38,000 offer against a £42,500 going rate at 37.5 hours returns a floor of £42,500 and a £4,500 gap.
What you pay the moment the CoS is assigned
Adds the £525 certificate of sponsorship fee to the Immigration Skills Charge (£1,320 a year for a medium or large sponsor, £480 for a small or charitable one). Three years at the large-sponsor rate is £3,960 of skills charge, so £4,485 leaves the company before the Home Office ever reads the salary.
Visa fee and health surcharge on the other side
Adds the visa application fee (£819 from outside the UK up to 3 years, £1,618 over 3 years, £943 and £1,865 in-country) to the £1,035 a year Immigration Health Surcharge, so a 3-year overseas hire shows £3,924 on the applicant side and £8,409 all in.
Export the working and set the date (full version)
The full version writes every line of the calculation to a .csv you can paste into the hiring budget or the compliance file, and schedules reminders 30, 14 and 1 days before the date you enter, plus the renewal date when the same certificate and skills charge fall due again.

Questions people ask

What does the Skilled Worker Sponsor Cost Gate actually do?

It answers two questions in one screen. First, the lowest salary this particular job may legally be paid: the higher of your salary route floor and the occupation going rate pro-rated to the hours worked, counting at most 48 hours a week. Second, the money that leaves the company when you assign the certificate, and the total cost of the hire.

Who is it for?

UK employers who already hold a sponsor licence and are about to sponsor someone: HR managers, in-house recruiters, practice managers and owner-directors of small firms. It is written for the person who has to put a number in the hiring budget and defend it, not for the visa applicant.

Why not just read the GOV.UK fee pages for free?

The fees live on four separate pages, and the Skilled Worker cost page lists the visa fee and health surcharge without the certificate fee or the skills charge at all. None of those pages pro-rate an occupation going rate to part-time hours, and that pro-rating is where sponsorship decisions actually fail.

What is free and what needs a licence key?

Every calculation is free, with no key and no cap: the salary floor, the gap, the skills charge, the visa fee, the surcharge and the all-in total. The key unlocks a different axis, not a better answer: exporting the working to .csv and scheduling the reminders before your acting date.

What would this cost done by a person?

Immigration advisers publish fixed fees of roughly two to five thousand pounds for a sponsor licence application, and per-hire advice is billed on top. A single wrong salary line is more expensive still: the certificate fee and the skills charge are spent at assignment, before a caseworker reads the offer.
