Four things to put in your message
Where the work is
Street and postcode. It decides whether the job is on this week's round or next.
What is wrong
Tripping breaker, dead sockets, new circuit, EICR before a let. A sentence is enough.
When you are in
Give two windows rather than one. Most jobs get booked on the second.
A photo
Attach a photo of the consumer unit or the fitting. It saves one visit more often than not.
Before you write
Do you charge to quote?
No charge for a quote on domestic work inside the service area. Say so in your message if the job is commercial and we will tell you before we visit.
How long until I hear back?
Same working day for messages sent before 4pm. Anything later is answered the next morning.
What if it is urgent?
Do not use this form. Use the out-of-hours page, which lists the number that is answered in the evening and at weekends.
Where does the message go?
Straight into the office mailbox from your own mail program. There is no third party in between and no account to create.
Need someone tonight?
Evening, weekend and bank holiday callouts go to a different number, answered by whoever is on call.
