One sale that Etsy attributes to an Offsite Ad costs 15% of the order total (12% once your shop has sold $10,000 in 365 days), up to $100 per order, on top of the 6.5% transaction fee and 3% + $0.25 processing. See what is left of your profit before the holiday orders start.

For US Etsy sellers pricing for the holiday rush. Type one order: price, shipping, the buyer's sales tax, your costs and your shop's last-365-day sales. You see profit with and without an Offsite Ad, and the price that keeps your profit.

Etsy Fees & Payments Policy: listing $0.20 · transaction 6.5% of price + shipping · US processing 3% + $0.25 of the total incl. tax · Offsite Ads 15% under $10,000 in 365 days (you may opt out), 12% from $10,000 for the life of the shop (no opt-out), max $100 per order. Free fee calculators stop at 6.5% + 3%; this one applies your Offsite Ads tier and the cap.

Etsy Profit Calculator 2026 — Offsite Ads 15% vs 12%

Offsite Ads fee 5.09 on 17.30 profit: one 28 dollar mug order for a US Etsy seller whose shop sold under 10,000 dollars in the prior 365 days. Here is the finished result for that order (5.95 shipping, 7% sales tax, 7.50 item cost, 5.40 postage, 1 unit):

Order total (items + shipping): 33.95 dollars Listing fees: 0.20 · Transaction fee (6.5%): 2.21 · Payment processing (3% + 0.25 incl. tax): 1.34 Profit without an Offsite Ad: 17.30 dollars Offsite Ads rate for your shop: 15% Offsite Ads fee: 5.09 dollars Profit when the order came from an Offsite Ad: 12.21 dollars Break-even item price on an Offsite Ads order: 11.78 dollars Item price that keeps your profit on an Offsite Ads order: 34.76 dollars

Same mug, same buyer, same postage, and the ad order keeps 29% less profit. That fourth fee is the one most sellers never put in their price.

How Etsy's Fees & Payments Policy stacks the four fees. Every listing costs 0.20 when it is created, renewed, or when an extra unit of a multi-quantity listing sells. The transaction fee is 6.5% of the item price plus shipping and gift wrap. US payment processing is 3% of the order total including sales tax, plus 0.25. Then, if the buyer clicked one of Etsy's Offsite Ads and bought within 30 days, Etsy adds an advertising fee on the whole order: 15% if your shop sold under 10,000 dollars in the prior 365 days, 12% once it has reached 10,000. That fee never goes above 100 dollars for one order.

Two details change your price. First, below 10,000 dollars you can opt out of Offsite Ads; at 10,000 you cannot, and the 12% rate stays for the life of the shop even if sales fall again. Second, you never choose which orders are attributed. An order from an ad looks like any other order until the fee shows up in your payment account.

At or above 10,000 dollars the rate is 12%: the fee on that mug is 4.07, the profit is 13.23, and the price that keeps the 17.30 profit is 33.20.

The two price rows assume the order stays under the 100 dollar cap, which for a single order means an order total under about 667 dollars at 15%. Below the break-even price of 11.78, an ad sale loses money.

The calculator was checked twice: the workbook is recalculated in LibreOffice, the same 12 formulas run in the browser engine, and all 12 results matched.

Three situations where the answer really changes:

  1. A low-priced item with heavy postage. The Offsite Ads fee is charged on shipping too, so a bigger postage bill raises the break-even price.
  2. A shop that just crossed 10,000 dollars. The rate falls from 15% to 12%, but the opt-out is gone for good, so every product needs a price that survives an ad order.
  3. A large order. Three units of the mug make an 89.95 order: the fee is 13.49 and profit falls from 52.46 to 38.97. Only on orders above the cap does the 100 dollar limit start to help.

Before the holiday traffic starts, run your three best-sellers through it. If the profit on an ad order is below what you need, change the price in Shop Manager now, not after the fees have been taken.

The free page does one order at a time and shows every line. The paid workbook keeps the same formulas offline, one copy per listing, and adds a season sheet. At 12 ad orders a month the mug's Offsite Ads fees come to 61.08 a month and 732.96 over 12 months.

Questions people ask

What does this Etsy profit calculator work out?

From 8 inputs it runs 12 formulas: the $0.20 listing fee, the 6.5% transaction fee, the 3% + $0.25 processing fee, your profit without an Offsite Ad, the Offsite Ads fee at 15% or 12% capped at $100, your profit on an ad order, the break-even item price, the price that keeps your profit, and the Offsite Ads cost per month and per year.

Who is it for?

US Etsy sellers who set their own prices: handmade, print-on-demand, digital-plus-physical and vintage shops. It matters most before the holiday season, when Etsy buys more Offsite Ads and more of your orders can arrive with a 15% or 12% fee on top of the usual 6.5% transaction fee and 3% + $0.25 processing fee.

Why not just use a free Etsy fee calculator?

Most free Etsy fee calculators only show the 6.5% transaction fee and the processing fee. They skip Offsite Ads, or apply one fixed rate. This one picks 15% or 12% from your shop's prior 365-day sales, applies Etsy's $100 per-order cap, and tells you the item price that keeps the same profit when an order comes from an ad.

What is free, and what does the paid file add?

The page answers one order completely and for free: every fee line, profit with and without an Offsite Ad, the break-even price and the keep-my-profit price. The paid .xlsx is the same set of formulas in a workbook you keep, plus an Offsite Ads season sheet that projects the fee over a month and 12 months. You pay once; it is not a subscription.

How does it compare with doing it by hand?

By hand you would read Etsy's Fees & Payments Policy, work out five fee lines and then solve for a new price, and repeat that for every listing. The workbook keeps those 12 formulas ready, so re-pricing a listing means typing seven numbers. The fee rates come straight from Etsy's published policy, not from an estimate.
