Example (made-up numbers): quote a $15,000 client budget at $1.50 per 1,000 verified views, pay clippers $1.00, and the $5,000 spread loses $1,000 to the 10% Content Rewards fee and $199.99 to tools, leaving a real margin of $3,800.01. Starter kits sell the playbook and income screenshots; this works out your campaign before you sign it, and it gives you the highest clipper CPM you can post.

AI clipping agency starter kit math for a clipping agency owner quoting a CPM campaign: the client pays per 1,000 verified views, you pay clippers per 1,000 views, and Whop Content Rewards takes a 10% fee on clipper payouts that a plain spread leaves out. Worked example

Real numbers from this tool, line by line.

On a 15,000-dollar clipping campaign at 1.50 per 1,000 verified views, a clipping agency owner who pays clippers 1.00 keeps a real margin of 3,800.01 dollars, not the 5,000-dollar spread. This is a made-up example worked through the calculator.

Campaign marginResult
Verified views the client buys10,000,000
Clipper payouts10,000 dollars
Content Rewards fee on clipper payouts (10%)1,000 dollars
Spread before fees5,000 dollars
Tool cost charged to this campaign199.99 dollars
Real margin after fee and tools3,800.01 dollars (25.33%)

The spread is the number every pitch shows: 15,000 minus 10,000. The two lines under it are the ones that decide whether the campaign was worth running. Whop Content Rewards takes a 10% fee on delivered clipper work (ReelShift, checked 21 Oct 2026), so on 10,000 dollars of clipper payouts that is 1,000 dollars. The 199.99 is one month of an agency-level clipping tool plan.

The two CPMs that keep your margin

The calculator then solves the question you face before you post a campaign: what can I pay clippers, and what must I charge the client?

So at a 1.50 client price, a 1.00 clipper rate (the most common rate on ReelShift's list) only just holds 25%. Post 1.25 to attract more clippers and drop the tool cost, and the real margin is 1,250 dollars, 8.33% of the budget.

Three situations, same file

  1. 15,000 budget, 1.50 client CPM, 1.00 clipper CPM: real margin 3,800.01 (25.33%).
  2. Same campaign, but the client negotiates you down to 1.20: views rise to 12,500,000, clipper payouts to 12,500, the fee to 1,250, and the real margin falls to 1,050.01 (7%).
  3. A 1,000-dollar campaign, the Content Rewards minimum, at 1.50 and 1.00: spread 333.33, fee 66.67, tools 199.99, real margin 66.67 (6.67%). The break-even client CPM rises to 1.40 and the highest clipper CPM for 25% falls to 0.75.

The third case is the one beginners miss: a fixed tool bill eats a small campaign. The break-even CPM tells you before you sign.

The year view and the 1099-NEC line

If you pay clippers directly (your own Discord server, PayPal) instead of through Content Rewards, US Form 1099-NEC applies to each clipper you pay 2,000 dollars or more in 2026. That threshold comes from the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, section 70433, for payments made after 31 December 2025, and it is adjusted for inflation from 2027. In the example, 20 clippers sharing 10,000 dollars over 6 campaigns are each paid 3,000 dollars a year, so the workbook flags them. Through Content Rewards, Whop is the payer. The same year sheet totals what the fee costs you: 6,000 dollars over 6 campaigns.

What is free and what is paid

The web calculator answers one campaign, every row, free, in your browser, with nothing uploaded. The .xlsx workbook is the paid part: you keep it, reuse it for every campaign, and get the year sheet with the yearly fee total and the 1099-NEC check. It opens in Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets, and LibreOffice recomputed all 12 formulas to the same values as the web page.

No income is promised here. Your margin depends on the rates you set and the views that get approved, and every default is a value to replace with your own campaign brief.

Questions people ask

What does this AI clipping agency starter kit calculator do?

You type the client budget, the price per 1,000 verified views you charge, the CPM you pay clippers, the Content Rewards fee and your tool cost. It returns views bought, clipper payouts, the fee, your real margin, the break-even client CPM and the highest clipper CPM that still keeps the margin you want.

Who is it for?

Clipping agency owners and Whop clipping-server operators who sit between a brand and a pool of clippers: you quote the brand per 1,000 views and pay clippers per 1,000 views, usually through Whop Content Rewards. It suits a first campaign as well as an agency running several each year.

Why not just use a free CPM calculator?

A free CPM calculator multiplies views by one rate. Your margin depends on two rates plus the 10% Content Rewards fee on clipper payouts and your tool bill. In the example the plain spread is 5,000 dollars, but the fee takes 1,000 and tools 199.99, leaving 3,800.01.

What is free and what is in the paid workbook?

The page answers one campaign completely and for free, with every row on screen. The paid .xlsx keeps every campaign, adds a Year sheet with your yearly Content Rewards fees and flags a clipper you pay directly who passes the 2026 1099-NEC 2,000-dollar line.

Where do the default numbers come from?

ReelShift (checked 21 Oct 2026) lists Clipping Culture at about 1.50 dollars per 1,000 verified views from a 15,000-dollar budget, 1 dollar per 1,000 views as the most common clipper rate, a 10% Content Rewards fee and a 199.99-dollar agency tool plan. Replace them with your own campaign brief.

When does the 1099-NEC line change next?

The 2,000-dollar Form 1099-NEC threshold applies to payments made after 31 December 2025 (One Big Beautiful Bill Act, section 70433). From 2027 the amount is adjusted for inflation, so re-check the threshold on irs.gov in January 2027 before you issue forms for clipper payments.
