Counts tariff headings, not parcels
The duty that replaced the €150 relief is €3 per 4-digit tariff heading in the consignment. A parcel holding a silk blouse, two wool blouses and a leather belt is three headings, so €9 — not €3.
Worked at 900 parcels a month
900 parcels a month with 3 tariff headings each is €8,100 of duty, not the €2,700 a flat-€3-per-parcel reading gives. At €42 goods, 21% VAT with IOSS on, a €2 handling fee and €0 collected at checkout, that is €9,900 a month and €118,800 a year unbilled.
Falls back to ad valorem over €150
The €3 flat duty only covers consignments of intrinsic value up to €150. Above that the calculator switches to your ad valorem duty rate and drops IOSS, because IOSS cannot be used over €150.
Handling fee is a field, not a guess
The EU-wide per-consignment handling fee is proposed but its amount and start date were still being set in autumn 2026, so it is an input you fill with what your carrier actually passes on — set it to 0 until they do.
Source on the face of it
Source: Council of the EU gave final approval to the small-consignment customs duty on 11 February 2026; the €150 duty relief ended and the €3-per-heading duty applies from 1 July 2026, on an interim basis until the wider customs reform.
CSV export and return-date reminders
The full version writes the parcel-by-parcel figures to a .csv you keep for your filing, and turns the return date you enter into reminders 30, 14 and 1 day out.

Questions people ask

What does this actually work out?

It works out what EU customs charges on a parcel you ship to a consumer, under the rule that replaced the €150 duty relief on 1 July 2026. You give it parcels per month, the number of 4-digit tariff headings in a typical parcel, goods value, VAT rate and what your checkout already collects. It returns duty, import VAT, landed cost and the yearly shortfall.

Who is it for?

US and UK sellers on Shopify, Etsy and eBay who ship DDP parcels to EU consumers and quote a delivered price at checkout. It is also for the operations person who reconciles carrier duty invoices afterwards and keeps finding charges nobody quoted. If you ship mixed parcels of several product types, the heading count is where the money goes missing.

Why will a chatbot or a free duty plugin not do this?

Because almost all of them read the new duty as €3 per parcel. It is €3 per 4-digit tariff heading in the consignment, so a three-product parcel is €9, not €3. A free tool that under-quotes by a factor of three on every mixed parcel is worse than no tool, because you price against it.

What is free and what needs the key?

Every calculation is free, forever, with no key and no cap: duty per parcel, import VAT, landed cost, monthly and annual shortfall, in the popup and on the web page. The $60 key adds two things on a different axis — a .csv export of the parcel-by-parcel figures that you keep, and return-date reminders at 30, 14 and 1 day.

What would this cost me otherwise?

A customs consultant charges roughly €80 to €150 an hour to classify a catalogue down to 4-digit tariff headings, and a broker bills about €25 to €50 per import entry. One afternoon of consultant time costs more than the key. The alternative is paying the gap yourself on every parcel, which at 900 parcels a month runs to five figures.
