How the numbers are made
Hours saved = hours per person per week × people × % AI. Value a year = hours saved × working weeks × staff cost per hour, minus tool subscriptions × 12. Build fee = build hours × your rate. Payback = build fee ÷ weekly net value. Tasks rank by net value per build hour; a quick win pays back in 8 weeks or less. Options: A = the quick wins, B = the top tasks that make 80% of the value, C = B plus monthly care. Every option fee adds your discovery and handover hours.
Yardstick: a management analyst's median wage is $48.97 an hour (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, OEWS May 2025, SOC 13-1111), so a 2-day manual audit is 16 h = $783.52 in wages alone. Engine . Estimates, not a promise of savings: you and your client agree the hours.
