Full version — $120 once: the Tableau workbook that runs these rules on every student in your SIS export (school, grade and teacher views). Get the .twb
A generic template divides days attended by days enrolled. The CDE count first drops students expected to attend fewer than 31 days, then counts a student as chronically absent at 10% or more of the days they were expected to attend. The rate is chronically absent students divided by eligible students. Excused absences count as absences too.
[Days Expected to Attend] - [Days Attended]Plus 5 named sheets and 1 dashboard (Attendance Overview), a sample CSV and a README. The .twb holds no data (a .twbx would): open it in Tableau Desktop or Tableau Public, then use Edit Connection to point it at your CSV. Menu names vary by Tableau version and UI language.
Columns your CSV needs, one row per student: SSID, Student Name, School Name, Grade, Teacher, Days Expected to Attend, Days Attended, Excused Absence Days, Unexcused Absence Days, Instructional Days in Year, Report Date
The ADA value prices absences at the base grant rate; how much reaches your budget depends on your LEA's funded-ADA rules. This page runs in your browser and sends nothing.
The Tableau workbook (.twb) runs the same rules on every student in your CSV at once: 8 calculated fields (Days Absent, Chronic Eligible, Chronically Absent, Chronic Absenteeism Rate, Attendance Rate, Absence Days Left, Absence Tier, ADA Value of Absences), 5 named sheets and 1 dashboard, for school

A data scientist's median wage is $57.80 per hour (BLS OEWS 2025, SOC 15-2051). Rates in the file: CDE Funding Rates and Information 2025–26, adjusted base grant per ADA TK–3 $11,323 · 4–6 $10,411 · 7–8 $10,719 · 9–12 $12,746.
Buy the full version — $120It applies California's CDE chronic absenteeism rule to your own CSV: a student expected to attend 31 or more days who misses 10% or more of them is chronically absent, and the rate is chronically absent students divided by eligible students. It also values each absence in ADA at the CDE 2025–26 adjusted base grant for the student's grade span.
California K-12 attendance clerks, assistant principals, district data coordinators and charter operations leads who already export a year-to-date attendance summary from Aeries, PowerSchool, Infinite Campus or Synergy and use Tableau Desktop or Tableau Public. You need one row per student with days expected and days attended.
A free template usually divides days attended by days enrolled and stops. It does not drop students expected to attend fewer than 31 days, so its chronic absenteeism rate will not match the CDE Dashboard method, and it does not price absences in ADA at the four grade-span rates from TK–3 $11,323 to 9–12 $12,746.
On the web page you check one student: type grade, days expected, days attended and instructional days and see all 6 results, including CDE status, absence days left before the full-year 10% line and ADA value. The paid .twb runs the same rules on every student in your export with school, grade and teacher views.
The workbook is $120 once, not a subscription. Building the same 8 calculated fields yourself means hours of a data person's time; the BLS OEWS 2025 median wage for data scientists is $57.80 per hour. The .twb holds no data: you connect your own CSV with Edit Connection, and menu names vary by Tableau version and UI language.
