I am Nora Halvey, a wedding and portrait photographer based in Asheville, North Carolina.
I work quietly, in available light, and I hand back galleries that look the way the day actually felt.
Most couples find me a year out; portrait sessions usually book within a month.

Weddings and elopements
Coverage across western North Carolina, from a courthouse morning to a farm reception that runs past midnight. A second photographer comes along on any wedding over eighty guests.
Portraits
Families, seniors, maternity and the quiet in-between years. Sessions run about ninety minutes, usually outdoors, usually in the last light of the day.
Brand and headshots
Working photographs for makers, restaurants and small studios: headshots that look like you, hands at work, and the room your customers will walk into.

What you can count on
Two bodies, two cards, always
Every frame is written to two memory cards as it is taken. Nothing on a wedding day rests on one card or one camera.
Your files, backed up twice
Cards are copied to two separate drives before I sleep, and the finished gallery stays online for a year after delivery.
A delivery date in writing
Portrait galleries in two weeks, weddings in six, counted from the day of the shoot and written into the agreement.
Print rights included
Every gallery comes with a licence to print and share your own photographs. You never have to ask me for permission to hang your own wall.
