Schengen 90/180 overstay exposure (EES rules, 2026)

Prices one planned trip against the EES day count: days left, the last legal day inside, and the euro exposure if the trip runs past it.

Days you may legally stay from the entry date—days
Last legal day inside the Schengen area—
Days over the 90/180 cap—days
Fine exposure—EUR
Blocked-trip cost behind the entry ban—EUR
Total exposure—EUR
Rolling 180-day allowance, not a calendar count
Subtracts days already spent from the 90-day cap and adds back the days that roll out of the 180-day window during the trip: 79 used, 4 rolling out leaves 15 days allowed, the line hand counts and chatbots get wrong.
The last legal day inside, as a date
Turns the allowance into the date a border officer will read. A 21-day trip entered on 2026-10-05 with 15 days allowed has its last legal day on 2026-10-19 and is 6 days over.
Fine plus blocked-trip cost, in euros
Prices the overstay: a EUR 1,000 national fine plus EUR 28,800 of blocked trips behind a 12-month entry ban at 6 trips a year worth EUR 4,800 each totals EUR 29,800 of exposure.
Written for the EES, live since 10 April 2026
The Entry/Exit System has been fully operational at every Schengen external border since 10 April 2026, so the day total is a machine record, not a passport stamp someone forgot to read. The fine amount is yours to set, never invented
Overstay fines are set by each member state's national law and vary widely, so the fine and the entry-ban length are inputs you fill from the country you exit through, not numbers this tool makes up.
Paid axis: keep it and be reminded
The USD 60 key exports each check as a CSV row for the traveller's mobility file and sets a browser alarm before the last legal day; the calculation itself is free and uncapped.
