User registration for youth clubs: does this child need a parent's consent?

For club secretaries in the EU, Iceland, Norway and the UK. GDPR Article 8 sets the digital-consent age at 13, 14, 15 or 16 depending on the country.

Parent's consent needed: 14 years old, Germany's age is 16

The WordPress plugin: the same 30-country ages in your club's sign-up form, the parent's confirmation email, CSV export of the register. Paid once, no subscription.

Consent is the lawful basis this check is about (for example a directory listing or photos). The same child in another country can get a different answer. That's why the table below highlights the row.

Digital-consent age, 30 countries (GDPR Art. 8 national choices)

CountryAgeThis member on the sign-up date

Fines for Art. 8 breaches: up to €10,000,000 or 2% of worldwide annual turnover, whichever is higher (GDPR Art. 83(4)).
