The 2026-27 appropriate percentage table
Reads HMRC 480 Appendix 2 for 2026-27: 4% at 0 g/km, five electric-range bands for 1-50 g/km, 17% at 51-54 g/km rising 1% per 5 g/km, capped at 37%.
Employer Class 1A at 15%
Applies the 15% Class 1A rate that replaced 13.8% on 6 April 2025, and shows what the same car would have cost an employer under 2024-25 rates.
Capital contribution and days unavailable
Caps the employee capital contribution at £5,000, pro-rates the benefit for days the car was unavailable, then deducts any payment made for private use.
Diesel supplement, only where it is due
Adds the 4% supplement for a car propelled solely by diesel that does not meet RDE2, exempts RDE2 cars, and never lets the total pass the 37% cap.
P11D(b) late-filing exposure
Shows the £100 per 50 employees (or part of 50) per month that starts running when a P11D(b) is filed after 6 July.
Working paper and deadline reminders
Full version saves each car as a .csv working paper you keep, and sets 30-day, 14-day and next-day reminders for the P11D(b) date you enter.

Questions people ask

What does this actually work out?

It takes a car's P11D list price, CO₂ figure and electric range and returns the 2026-27 appropriate percentage, the cash equivalent, the driver's income tax at 20%, 40% or 45%, and the employer's Class 1A National Insurance at 15%. It also shows the late P11D(b) penalty: £100 per 50 employees, or part of 50, for every month the return is late.

Who is this for?

UK payroll managers, fleet administrators and owner-directors of small limited companies who have to put company cars on a P11D and settle the Class 1A on the P11D(b). It is built for the person checking a figure before 6 July, not for a tax adviser rebuilding a whole fleet schedule.

Why not just ask a chatbot or use a free rate sheet?

Most still quote 2% for a zero-emission car and 13.8% for Class 1A. Both ended on 5 April 2025: the zero-emission percentage is 4% for 2026-27 and Class 1A is 15%. Published sheets also disagree on the diesel supplement, which is 4%, and they rarely apply the £5,000 capital contribution cap.

What is free and what needs a licence key?

Every calculation is free and unlimited, with no key, no watermark and no locked answers, in both the browser popup and the free web page. The $60 licence adds two things on a different axis: saving each car as a .csv working paper you keep, and P11D(b) deadline reminders 30 days, 14 days and one day out.

What would this cost if someone else did it?

UK accountancy fee guides for 2026 put P11D benefits reporting at roughly £30 to £75 per employee, charged as an add-on to payroll. Fully managed payroll including P11D processing runs £12 to £25 per employee per month. The licence is $60 once, for one person or team seat, with a 7-day full refund.
