Cloud Cost Landmine Lint for Terraform, CloudFormation and Kubernetes

It reads the Terraform, CloudFormation, Kubernetes or compose file you have open and names every line that starts a charge which keeps running after you close the editor. Each finding carries the published us-east-1 unit price and, where the price changes on a fixed date, that date. It ships 27 rules.

Platform, DevOps and SRE engineers who write the infrastructure code somebody else pays the bill for. It is aimed at the person reviewing a module an assistant generated, or a pull request that adds one NAT gateway per availability zone, and who will be asked in four weeks why the account grew.

Because the assistant writes map_public_ip_on_launch = true, which was free until 2024-02-01 and now costs $0.005 an hour per address, and it has no calendar. It cannot know that a version string you have not touched, Kubernetes 1.34, starts billing $0.60 a cluster-hour instead of $0.10 on 2026-12-02.
